Kia ora koutou, my name is Nikki Furer. I was born and raised in Ashburton, and now I live in Rolleston with my partner Todd and our two children Jameson and Rosalie - I venture to Ashburton each day.<\/span><\/p>

I have been part of the Phoenix wh\u0101nau since 2014 when my son Jameson started at Phoenix Preschool. This led me to follow my dream of teaching, studying a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) in 2017 where I began my journey as the Sleep Room Kaiako. I then moved to a permanent teacher role as I advanced in my studies, and in 2020 I finished my degree.<\/span><\/p>

I have been honoured to have taught in both Te R\u016bma P\u016bkeko and Te R\u016bma Kiwi which has helped me gain a wide range of knowledge across the different ages and stages. I have loved my time in both classes, where I am happy to teach in either space. You will currently find me teaching in Te R\u016bma Kiwi.<\/span><\/p>

Phoenix has played a huge role in my family's life as I have been lucky to have spent valuable and precious teaching time with two of my little cousins, and four of my nephews, as well as my daughter Rosalie. Where I am now able to share my knowledge with my niece whom works at Phoenix too.<\/span><\/p>

I love working at Phoenix because it feels just like a second home, the teachers are just like family and extended aunts. Where we support, laugh, encourage and value each other.<\/span><\/p>

I have the most rewarding job in the world where I am able to nurture and watch learning unfold as the children explore, create, discover and learn to be curious.<\/span><\/p>

In my free time you will most likely find me on the side of the sports field cheering on my son, going for a walk in the wilderness, or doing an adventurous activity. <\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
