Kia ora, my name is Kathleen and I have been teaching at Phoenix Preschool for more than two years now. I live locally with my partner Nathan, son Tyson, and daughter Rylee (who also attends Phoenix Preschool and absolutely loves it!).
Outside of preschool we love spending our weekends exploring new outdoor places for the kids to play, making memories with family and friends, and enjoying cosy family movie nights together.
I’ve always had a passion for teaching ever since I was a child myself, and I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to turn that lifelong passion into a career where I can nurture and support tamariki during such important stages of their development.
I am especially passionate about infants and toddlers and the incredible developmental journey they experience in the early years of their lives. I believe in building positive, trusting, and reciprocal relationships with tamariki and whānau, creating strong foundations, where tamariki feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn and grow each day.
