Fly Away with Kirsty

Tēnā koutou, kumusta, talofa lava, mālō e lelei, bula, kia orana and warm greetings. Ko Kirsty Gilbert tōku ingoa. I am working as a teacher-in-training whilst finishing my Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) degree.

I was born and grew up in Timaru, however a significant portion of my life has been spent in the UK, where I became a dual British/New Zealand citizen. I live in Hakatere Ashburton with my British husband Chris, son Declan, and cat Leo. In my previous life I was a graphic designer and website project manager. After my son was born, I wanted to change my career to working with tamariki as I find it rewarding.

When not working, I enjoy walks in nature, gardening, art and crafts, puzzles, board games and I have a passion for travelling and architecture.
