I am the team leader here in te rūma Pūkeko.
I love working here at Phoenix Preschool and joined the team in February 2024 where I quickly felt at home.
Prior to Phoenix, I began with relief teaching, and after a short while became a full-time caregiver. I realised my passion for this career, and I began my teaching Degree which I completed in 2020. I have continued to grow my knowledge and experience in the years since and have had the privilege of working with many tamariki and their whānau.
I enjoy teaching in both age groups supporting the tamariki and encouraging curiosity to explore the world around them. I love collaborating with whānau and working together to plan and extend their tamaiti to reach their goals. Every tamaiti is unique and is on their own journey and I love getting to know them and helping them grow then seeing them graduate to their next step of their journey. I love dress-up days and book week 🙂
When I am not at preschool, I’m going on adventures; doing a whole bunch of random things but my main hobbies are watching movies, riding my motorbike (when life’s not too busy), being an aunty (which is my favourite), and watching and supporting the Wāhine Toa – Hampstead Women’s Rugby Team.
