Kia ora,
Ko Sarah Johnson tōku ingoa. I am happily married to my husband Eion, and together we have the privilege of raising our miracle son, Theo. We also have a much-loved cat, Dusty, who actually began his journey at Phoenix Preschool!
Coming from a family of teachers, I naturally found my passion in Early Childhood Education. My journey at Phoenix Preschool began in 2005 when I was young and fresh-faced. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew Phoenix was something special. It has always been a warm, welcoming, and caring environment, “he wāhi manaaki mō te katoa” and quickly became my second home. Twenty years later, I’m still here and feel incredibly grateful.
When working in our mixed-age setting it allowed me to teach across all age groups, but my true passion is with our pēpi and toddlers. I love building strong, trusting relationships with tamariki, supporting them to feel secure and confident as they explore and grow. There is nothing more rewarding than watching them develop independence and realise just how capable they are.
Outside of work, our little whānau enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for walks in nature, listening to music, heading out for coffee, attending church and supporting various boxing and dance events.
I feel very blessed to be a part of the Phoenix Preschool community and to continue nurturing and supporting our tamariki each day.
